Golf Competition at Laranjal Course

Laranjal Competition

Individual Stableford competition at Laranjal.

One of the Algarve’s most highly regarded championship courses, Laranjal Golf Course provides a superb setting for the Tee Times Prestige Tournament.

Opened in 2009, Laranjal is the newest of Quinta do Lago’s celebrated golf courses. Its name reflects the land’s original use as an orange grove, and the course still retains much of that distinctive character, with orange trees lining the fairways and adding a unique sense of place to the golfing experience.

Designed in a modern, American-inspired style, Laranjal features generous fairways, immaculate playing surfaces and large, beautifully presented greens that are both fast and challenging. Although relatively flat and extremely enjoyable to walk, the course demands accuracy, intelligent course management and a confident short game.

Several holes stand out, including the spectacular par-five 9th, where water protects the green and creates one of the course’s most memorable approaches. The 7th is another formidable test, stretching to an impressive 236 metres from the championship tees and ranking among the longest par threes in Portugal.

Despite its championship credentials, Laranjal is exceptionally playable for golfers of different abilities. Carefully positioned tee boxes provide a fair challenge throughout, with the significant difference in yardage between the forward and back tees helping every player experience the course as it was intended.

Beautifully maintained, wonderfully scenic and consistently ranked among the Algarve’s favourite golf courses, Laranjal combines championship quality with an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphere. With glimpses towards the Atlantic and the surrounding orange groves providing a distinctive backdrop, it is an outstanding venue and a fitting course for the Tee Times Prestige Tournament.

Golf Competition at Monte Rei North Course

Monte Rei Competition

Widely regarded as one of Portugal’s finest golfing experiences, Monte Rei Golf & Country Club is a truly exceptional venue and a fitting centrepiece for the Tee Times Prestige Tournament.

Designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, Monte Rei delivers a memorable combination of championship golf, spectacular scenery and outstanding levels of service. Set within the rolling hills of the Eastern Algarve, the course offers magnificent views across the surrounding countryside towards the Atlantic Ocean.

The layout is gently undulating, with a complimentary buggy included for golfers, allowing players to enjoy the course in complete comfort. Generous fairways provide inviting targets from the tee, but accuracy remains essential, with strategically positioned bunkers and beautifully sculpted hazards placing a premium on intelligent course management.

Monte Rei is particularly renowned for its exceptional greens. Large, fast and immaculately maintained, they reward precise approach play and demand a confident putting stroke. Avoiding the numerous sand traps and finding the correct sections of the greens can make all the difference to a successful round.

Although particularly suited to medium and lower-handicap golfers, the thoughtful selection of tee positions makes Monte Rei enjoyable for a wide range of players. It is also extremely welcoming for lady golfers, with approximately 1,185 metres separating the red and yellow tees, creating a more balanced and enjoyable challenge.

What truly distinguishes Monte Rei, however, is the experience surrounding the golf itself.

From the moment guests arrive, the attention to detail is exceptional. Golfers are welcomed at their car, with clubs taken care of and valet parking provided before being escorted through check-in. Buggies are prepared with complimentary water and tees, while players are guided to the practice facilities before being accompanied to the first tee, where fresh fruit is provided ahead of the round.

Throughout the day, the service continues, with a well-stocked buggy bar circulating the course and cold towels offered during the warmer summer months. At the conclusion of the round, players are welcomed back and presented with a personalised bag tag as a lasting reminder of their experience.

Monte Rei offers far more than simply a round of golf. It combines a world-class Jack Nicklaus design with exceptional conditioning, dramatic scenery and a level of personal service that has helped establish it as one of the most prestigious golfing destinations in Portugal.

For players competing in the Tee Times Prestige Tournament, Monte Rei promises to be one of the unquestionable highlights of the event.

Golf Competition at Quinta Do Lago North Course

Quinta do Lago Competition

A superbly modernised championship layout in the heart of the Algarve, Quinta do Lago North Course offers an outstanding combination of strategic golf, immaculate conditioning and beautiful natural surroundings.

The course underwent a major redesign led by acclaimed golf architect Beau Welling, working in collaboration with former Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley. The project transformed the North Course into a more refined, enjoyable and strategically interesting golfing experience, while retaining the challenge expected from one of Quinta do Lago’s premier championship layouts.

Virtually every aspect of the course was enhanced during the redesign. Greens, tees, bunkers, water features, drainage systems and buggy paths were all upgraded using modern design techniques and construction standards associated with the world’s leading golf courses.

A key objective was to make the North Course more enjoyable and playable for golfers of differing abilities without compromising its championship credentials. The white tees were extended to provide a stronger test for accomplished players, while the yellow and red tees were shortened to create a more accessible and balanced challenge.

Around the greens, closely mown Bermuda grass provides golfers with a wide variety of recovery options. Players can choose to putt, chip or play more imaginative shots from the tightly cut surrounds, placing a greater emphasis on creativity and short-game decision-making.

The presentation of the fairways and surrounding landscape has also been significantly enhanced. Carefully selected grasses, attractive landscaping and the strategic planting of native vegetation and specimen trees create a beautifully defined course that blends naturally into the surrounding Algarve environment.

The result is a golf course that rewards thoughtful strategy, accurate approach play and imagination around the greens, while remaining enjoyable from the opening tee to the final putt.

For competitors in the Tee Times Prestige Tournament, Quinta do Lago North provides another exceptional championship venue and a fitting conclusion to a trio of outstanding Algarve golf experiences.
